PC Upgrade Advisor: check parts against your motherboard

Keep your existing system in mind: the motherboard and BIOS are often the limiting factors.

Check a CPU upgrade against your current board

Keep the existing motherboard selected and compare a replacement CPU. When an existing board is not in our small reference list, do not guess: consult its manufacturer's CPU support page.

Reference specifications last reviewed: —. No inventory, prices, merchant approvals, benchmark scores or full-system compatibility are implied. Read the limitations and methods.

Practical upgrade sequence

First record the exact motherboard model, revision and installed BIOS. Find its official CPU support list, not just its socket designation. Next confirm RAM generation and the memory QVL, then read the GPU vendor's power requirement and the case clearance measurements.

If your exact motherboard is not in our limited reference catalog, the checker cannot approve it. The safest next step is its original support documentation, not an approximate model-name match.
